This is a self-portrait with my daughter, Evangeline at about 4-5 months. It was after her bath, in the evening. As a baby she would snuggle right into my shoulder, and holding her sweet squishy body was pure bliss. I loved this painting because it captured the tenderness and intimacy of the cuddling we often shared; we just seemed to melt together. This was the first painting I cried over when it sold (and only since).
